Back coating (latex,EVA/Massback,LDPE)
Latex back coating is a process where a layer of latex compound is applied to the back of a fabric, typically to increase stability, prevent fraying, enhance durability, anti-slip, water resistance and frame retardancy (chemical compounds are applied). Common methods for applying the latex include lick-roll, knife-over-blanket, dip-coating and spraying, with the choice depending on the specific fabric property requirement and desired coating thickness.
LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) extrusion coating is a process used to enhance the properties of needle-punched carpets, particularly for automotive applications. It involves melting LDPE and extruding it as a layer onto the back of the carpet, creating durability, water-resistant, thermos-formability , dimensionally stable backing. This process can also incorporate secondary backing materials like felt, improving the carpet's overall performance and longevity
The EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) massback extrusion coating and lamination process for needle-punched carpet involves applying a layer of molten EVA using an extruder or EVA sheet onto the back of the carpet, it can be followed by lamination with a backing material. This process improves the carpet's dimensional stability, water resistance, and overall durability.
